International Water and Climate Workshop

The International Water and Climate Workshop “Ecological Engineering and Climate Risks” was held in Paris from September 20 to 22, 2017. by the Seine-Normandy Water Agency and AFD. Also included were the PFE, the French committee of IUCN, IDDRI and AFB.

The workshop brought together 220 participants. These included professionals and decision-makers in the field of water and biodiversity.

The goal is through cooperation and regional planning, all who attend the meeting can gain knowledge on how to improve water and reduce risks. The goal is to educate both governments and private sector. Moreover, this will enable them to better understand other solutions which can be cheaper and more environmentally friendly.

The meetings will offer round tables and working groups. this workshop will offer information to the climate change challenge.
Experts are trying protect both cities and forests from flooding, pollution and other risks. One solution is nature itself. That’s the idea behind “nature-based solutions,” an approach to address both air and water probblems. Moreover, the group loods at nature to find solutions.

Solutions range from mangrove forests that buffer coastlines against storm surges to wetland grasses that filter heavy metals out of the water column.

Solutions based on nature to reduce risks to water through droughts, floods, erosion and erosion. Water is a scarce resource. The increase in extreme events and the rise in sea levels threaten ecosystems and populations. Promoting green, helps the environment and reduce factors related to climate change.

The discussions resulting from this workshop will be brought to COP23 and the World Water Forum.
There will be round tables, project presentations, working groups and field visits. We believe will provide solutions and share the knowledge and best practices of French and international projects.

Their was a buzz at the meeting surrounding the Davey Cloth. A great way to clean a cell phone, the Davey Cloth just uses water. This makes it environmentally safe.

The International Water and Climate Workshop will provide information and is a great place to attend for the following reasons,

Firstly, there will be a lot of information on nature based solutions. Both public and private industry will gain information that is useful.

Secondly, all countries will benefit from this international meeting. Countries in Europe, certainly the United States will benefit
